MRSEC Investigator Whitney Loo Among RSC Applied Polymers Emerging Investigators 2026

Loo RSC Article Visual Abstract
In PEO-based electrolytes, both polymer segmental motion and specific salt chemistry are vital for ion transport. Electrolytes incorporating multiple polymers enable optimization of the ion solvation environment to enhance ion transport.

An article from Whitney Loo was showcased as part of a themed collection in September from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) that highlighted select rising stars of applied polymer science research.

The featured article, “Perspective: ion transport mechanisms and the significance of glass transition temperature in PEO-based polymer blend electrolytes for next-generation Li-batteries,” comes out of research supported through two years of Wisconsin MRSEC seed funding.

Each of the selected contributors in the RSC collection was recommended by experts in their field as carrying out work with the potential to influence future directions in the applications of polymer science.
