The magneto-optical imaging technique provides a spatial map of the perpendicular component of the magnetic field
above the surface of a material that can be compared directly with a conventional light microscope image of the same
region for structure-property relationship determinations. The Magneto-Optical Imaging Facility maintains a 0 - 0.12 T
magneto-optical microscope with a spatial resolution of ~5 microns, a cold stage (< 10 K to room temperature), and
integrated image analysis capabilities.
This facility is available for collaborative research projects
with the investigators in IRG2
