Through generous funding provided by the
National Science Foundation, the University of Wisconsin MRSEC hosts
two undergraduate summer research programs.
The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience-Research
Experience for Undergraduates (SURE-REU) program provides students with
opportunities that build on their interest in science and engineering
careers. Participating students conduct a ten-week research project in an
area of engineering or the physical sciences under the direction of
university faculty members and work as members of laboratory research
teams. Students are exposed to other research available on campus through
weekly meetings and faculty seminars, and have opportunities to visit
industry laboratories. Planned social activities are also available.
At the end of the program, participants present their work in an open
seminar.
This year's program runs from May 27th, 2007 through August 1st, 2007. For more
information, visit the
SURE-REU homepage.
