WiRemote is a system developed by the MRSEC that enables instrument access and remote control of lab instruments across the campus and to off campus users, including industrial sites.
WiRemote can be used for lectures, training and conducting research on instruments that are otherwise to expensive to be by technical colleges, non-research colleges and many industrial Laboratories
The Focused Ion Beam/FESEM (Fig. 2) in the Materials Science Center SC is now on-line and has been tested from several institutions, including the UW-Eau Claire, Stanford University, and the Zeiss applications lab in Florida. An example of this capability is shown in Fig. 1. Two additional FESEM will be on-line in the next 6 months.
